Drentsche AA

Just north of Assen lies a magnificent stream valley landscape. It is an official nature reserve. There are farms, beautiful woods, a lake and of course the rivulet itself. I loved it.

All we like sheep

Great title, Mr. Händel. After an afternoon's hard work at the TT circuit of Assen, I stayed a couple of days amidst the nature of the Drentsche AA. It's a lovely and quiet area, and of course I arranged a flock of sheep to pose for me (not true).

Soft beauties

The Drentsche AA is quite undulated, perfect to get clean shots standing on a hillock. I put a touch of haze into it to enhance the atmosphere.

Rhino

It must be one of my many defects, but I see shapes, animals and people in barks and branches. For example, I think this is clearly a rhino, just deprived of its ivory horn by poachers.

Those colours

Yes I know, it is one of my favourite subjects, I sincerely apologise once again, but birch trees are fascinating in my eyes.

Multiple layers

Yes, again a birch. I warned you ☺. But this is different. I layered a close-up and one a bit more distant of the same group of trees.

Late light

Sometimes it is just a matter of luck. On this dull and dreary day, suddenly the sun came out. The beams stroked the grass. A moment like this changes a landscape dramatically.
