For years and years, every holiday was focused on the UK. Our honeymoon was spent on Cyprus, my first subtropical destination. Temperatures in the mid-twenties, laid-back atmosphere, proud people, simple but tasty food, the light, landscapes, palms, beaches ... being in the subtropics is great.

Its variety in shapes make these trees fascinating. Some of them are more than 100 years old. I came across the most beautiful ones in Sicily and Mallorca.
